From the PresidentHi all. It's been a long time since our last newsletter! In that time we have held auditions and started rehearsal for our October concert Hearts on Fire. Conceived and directed by Robbie Carmellotti, this show comprises the very best songs of love, lust, anger and passion in musical theatre. With musical direction by Rowena O'Callaghan, a stellar cast, and performed in the delightful new venue The Castle, Hearts on Fire is guaranteed to be a great night out! Please bring all your friends! We will soon be calling for auditions for our Summer Play - Get Smart, based upon the very successful TV series. Watch our website for details. Meanwhile, this is a final call for a prospective director for this very funny show. Please contact Matt Caton on 0412 952 056 if you are interested. See you at Hearts on Fire! Stephen Oakes, DTC President Sweeney Todd wrap upIt's been 4 months since Sweeney Todd closed, and cast members are still saying what an amazing production it was. Unfortunately, the audience numbers were well down, which is a real pity considering the quality of the production. Congratulations to the entire production team and cast who worked together so well to present one of the best productions ever to be staged by DTC. Vale George FosterA remembrance ceremony was held on September 4th to commemorate the life of George Foster who has passed away at the age of 82. A large number of people attended to pay their respects and to support his family. It was good to see so many DTC members and past members there to reminisce and share their memories of George. |
