From the PresidentNearly three months in, we wish you all a happy new year! Welcome to the first 2004 edition of Stage Chat, keeping you informed of what’s happening at DTC! In January we
performed our play, It's My Party (And I'll Die If I Want To), an amusing and clever
Australian play by Elizabeth Coleman. Thanks
to Sharon Maine’s direction and a strong cast, audiences were entertained by
a most impressive and successful season of this play. Congratulations to all involved. In April and May, we will present our first musical for the year. This time we are presenting Carousel, a favourite by Rodgers and Hammerstein. The cast list is presented later on in this newsletter. Please contact our ticket secretary, Kerrie Stock on 9753 3331 for tickets. Our second production
for 2004 is going to be a fun evening of music, dancing and singing. We intend to celebrate many of the previous
productions that DTC has performed over its 30 year history by performing
songs from those musicals, as well as looking to the future by presenting
songs from productions that DTC has yet to perform. We will be performing them in a modern
(“funky”) setting. We expect that all
theatre-goers will find something of interest in this production! We are close to finalising our production
team for this show, so expect to see it announced it in the next newsletter,

Scott
Hili was recently recognized
by the Victorian Theatre Guild with a commendation for his set design for our
production last year of Joseph and the
Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
Scott was also nominated in numerous categories for both the Guild
Awards and the Lyrebird Awards. Congratulations Scott – we look forward
